Six days in Maine
- These photographs were taken in April, 2007 while I was in Maine for six days. They cover a fairly diverse range of subject matter, but I feel they all capture something special about each of their subjects.

- In June, 2002 I took a cross-coutry road trip with my best friend Scott and his brother, Tim. We drove from Portland, Maine to Santa Rosa, California and back in 11 days, with two days spent at the Grand Canyon. These are some of my favorite images from that trip. All of these photos were taken with a Creative Labs webcam. I will post more in the near future.

Breaking News
In a press conference held earlier today, scientists announced that they have successfully blended the DNA of a blue spruce tree with aircraft grade aluminum, creating and new "bio-alloy". The project, named the "Spru-luminum Project" was a joint venture between the U.S. Forest Service, Boeing and The Buckwheat Corporation, a subsidiary of AT&T.
"We are thrilled with the result", said Boeing spokesman, Paul Bunyan. "This breakthrough now allows us to grow trees that can be multi-purposed, from beautiful, shade producing members of the forest community to cell towers to bullet-proof hiding places and beyond"!
AT&T spokesman, Albert Albert added, " We will be launching a new "green" initiative, geared toward protecting the environment and spreading these wonderful trees across the nation". The plan will focus on distributing "Spru-luminum" saplings to elementary schools from coast to coast, in time for Arbor Day. Each sapling will come with it's own certificate of authenticity, planting and care instructions and a 200 foot measuring tape. "We don't want these youngsters to plant the saplings too close to their houses", Bunyan explained, "given the conductive nature of the alloy and the considerable weight of a mature tree".
Saplings will not be distributed to areas that are likely to experience severe lightning, high winds or mudslides.

caution...contents hot!
Sure, today the sun has returned and by all outward appearances, it is
a beautiful spring day. That was until the lid on my Dunkin Donuts hot
chocolate decided to let go of the cup, sending said tasty beverage
straight into my lap! The weird part was that as the cup fell, it was
as though the entire thing happened in slow-motion. I watched it make
it's way toward my crotch thinking, "that's gonna hurt"! And then,
"Splash"! Followed by hurt. I was amazed at how long it took for the
puddle that formed under my tender parts to cool to a bearable
temperature, even with the windows down. Needless to say, I turned the
car around and headed back home for a fresh pair of pants and a cold
cloth. I think the worst part of this whole experience, (excluding the
2nd degree burn), is that I was about ten blocks from work when it
happened. Commuting into Washington DC is a big enough pain without
the benefit of a chocolate coated groin, nevermind having to do it
twice in one morning. I guess that was perhaps a not-so-subtle
reminder that even sunny days have their problems.
