Tonight's efforts yielded some interesting new flavor in previously bland locales and lead to a new approach to, "how I am going to address the problem of feeling confined"? The solution: a bib! I mean, think about it! Redefine the space, (and it's limitations), by limiting it's control of itself, thereby giving me a "ready-made" margin of error! It's so simple! I love it! Just tape them off, one at a time and redefine each one, individually. In other words, disengage each plane's relative juxtaposition to the one(s) directly adjacent to it, by creating a two inch "safe-zone" with painter's tape. This new technique should address multiple issues, in fact. The afore mentioned issue as well as the "crisp" redefinition of each edge, while maintaining painterly approaches to each plane.
After which I wrapped up by playing with my tripod and camera while taking a quiet moment to reflect on things. This exercise yielded an interesting self-portrait. I love that there is a reflection of this outward manifestation of my inner reflection. (Actually this was a study, in preparation of my next large panel. More on that later).
